Website Builders / Blogging Sites

Weebly

Free and easy website builder. (I would argue easiest.) No coding required. Upgrades available for $$.  Currently hosting 2% of all websites on the internet. Free blogging included.

Wix

Free and easy website builder. Upgrades are slightly pricier than Weebly. No coding knowledge required. More customization than Weebly, but I also found it slightly more difficult to learn and use. Free blogging available.

WordPress

I found it to be sort of boxy and not have that great of themes. Some people swear by WordPress and love it. Give it a try, it may just be what works best for you. It currently hots 23% of all websites on the internet. Free blogging available.

Jimdo

I have not personally used Jimdo, but from what I gather, it is very similar to the other website builders.  No coding is required, free blogging included and you can customize themes.

Tackk

Picture
A one-page only website builder. The individual webpage can be used to present information that can then easily be shared among students and teachers. Students can also collaborate on a single page. It's free to use, has privacy settings and can be used with Google + and Edmodo logins. Additionally, you can create other types of Tackks like blogs and chats, but they are just found in the non-education sections.

Google Sites

As much as I love all things Google, this is my least favorite of them all.  I found Google Sites very difficult to use / customize.  I even had a hard time doing simple things like re-sizing a picture on the website.  I do not recommend this as a website builder, but you may have better luck than me.

Blogger

Picture
Similar feel to the Google Sites builder, but more manageable.   This is just a blogging site, but I've seen people adapt their work to make it look and feel like a full functioning website. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted this to work out, this still did not cut it for me. If you are planning on JUST blogging,  Although there was a lot of customization in terms of the layouts and colors etc., it seemed boxy and clunky to me.
